Corrugated Box Oven
Each patrol must supply their own corrugated box oven. It may be of any design but
shown below is a suggested design:
- Use a heavy corrugated box (a copier/computer paper box works very well) and must have a
lid (here again, the lid from the paper box works well).
- Line the inside of the box and lid with heavy duty aluminum foil. The foil lining the
box must extend around the lip of the box to the outside surface.
- Punch a few heavy wires (uncoated coathanger wire works very well) through the side of
the box, about half-way up.
- Charcoal (from your cooking fire) should be placed in an aluminum pie pan and either
suspended on a wire rack as shown in the diagram or placed on top of a couple of level
rocks. Keep the hot charcoal off the bottom of the oven but not too near the cooking
platform.
